Camille R. Murphy, CPA, CGMA, MSA – Principal
Camille has a passion for building a CPA practice where client benefits and client service drive all action. That pursuit fuels the investment of energy and resources into people, technology, and education that have given life to that passion – Murphy & Company. She has been on a path to perfecting her client centered entrepreneurial vision and the organization to deliver it. Camille originally founded her first CPA firm in 1982, and then was a partner in two succeeding CPA firms. She had additional experience in both corporate accounting and Big 4 public accounting experience at Deloitte prior to starting her own practice.
Camille has a Bachelor of Science and her Masters Degree in Accounting. She is a member of the AICPA and past President and Director of the CT Society of CPAs. Camille is a past director of Webster Bank, Shoreline Bank & Trust, Defran Systems, Inc., and the University of New Haven Center for Family Business. She is a past board member of the VNA (Visiting Nurse Association) and the Parents' Foundation for Transitional Living, Inc. She presently serves on the board of The Strong Center of Madison, Junior Achievement of CT and BECC (Branford Early Childhood Collaborative). She is the 2018 Chairperson of the Shoreline Chamber of Commerce. In addition, she is a dedicated contributor and teacher to numerous other charitable and civic organizations and schools.
In her “free” time, Camille indulges her secondary passion which is educating and communicating the power of accounting and financial knowledge to guide decision making on both macro (governmental) and micro (household) levels. She is a well-recognized advocate for financial literacy and education and served on the State of CT Treasurer’s Office Financial Literacy Coalition. Camille has also been an Adjunct Accounting Professor at Post University. In addition, she has authored the book, Financial Literacy for Your Kids and has created a suite of products to simplify home recordkeeping.
Camille lives with her husband George in Guilford. Between them they have four grown children and are blessed with six grandchildren – so far.
Peter M. Diamantini, CPA – Director
Peter has a distinguished career in the public accounting profession. A graduate of Quinnipiac College (where he and Camille first met) with a BS in Accounting, Peter has served clients with his expertise and diligence for over 35 years. Peter has worked in both local and regional CPA firms and had a run on the corporate side as well. He is Camille's former partner, and enjoys his role now as a Director in the Firm. Peter provides his clients with a complete range of accounting and tax services; there isn't much he hasn't seen or done.
Barbara D. Frisbie, CPA – Accounting Director
One of the longest tenured members of the Murphy Team, Barb joined Camille in 1990. Barb leads the Financial Accounting and Audit practice work. She has deep experience in accounting for the broad range of closely held and nonprofit businesses within the Murphy client portfolio. Prior experience includes audit work for Price Waterhouse Coopers and corporate accounting and external reporting management at Echlin. Barb is instrumental in managing the team’s peer review program, internal procedures and process flows for quality and efficiency.
Barb holds a BA from Colorado State and completed all coursework for a Masters in Accounting at the University of New Haven. A member of the AICPA and the CT Society of CPAs, Barb is also Treasurer and Finance Committee member for 3 outside organizations, including the Branford Festival. Barb and her husband Jon have raised three children in Branford and they live a very active healthy outdoor lifestyle which includes USTA tennis and world travel.
Sandra W. Pierog, CPA – Tax Director
Sandy has had a 30+ year career immersion in tax, with experience that includes three of the Big 4 public accounting firms, private and public enterprises and CPA firms serving closely held businesses. She has a broad range of tax management and advisory skills for clients of all types and sizes in planning, regulation (domestic and international), business organization and federal and state audits. Sandy is the center of competence in all matters tax related providing expertise, guidance and education in an ever changing and complex field.
Sandy has a BS in Business Administration from Central Connecticut State University and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Hartford. She is a member of the AICPA, CT Society of CPAs and Co-President of the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance, CT Chapter. Sandy is active in the Town of Bolton and is the current First Selectwoman and she has served on the board of several nonprofit organizations. An avid power boater and past Commander of the U.S. Power Squadrons, Sandy has raised 3 grown children with her husband Ernie. They have been rewarded to date with 4 beautiful grandchildren - 2 of each!
Marcela P. Osello, CPA, MBA - Tax & Accounting Director
As Murphy & Company continues to grow, Marcela is the newest member of the team joining as the Director of Tax and Accounting. Her diverse career experience ranges from Big 4 public accounting to publishing a children’s book and opening and managing her own business. In public accounting, Marcela worked closely with clients to provide innovative tax planning, consulting, compliance and audit services for start-up businesses through Fortune 500 companies. In running her own company, Marcela learned firsthand the challenges of business structuring, the product life cycle and intellectual property protection, to name a few. As a result, she has developed a robust skill set in not only tax and audit matters, but business advisory and overall accounting. Having come from a family of hard-working entrepreneurs, she is passionate about the community and small businesses and helping everyone achieve their short and long-term goals.
Marcela has both a BS in Accounting and MBA from Fordham University. She is a member of the AICPA and Milford Chamber of Commerce. Marcela lives in Milford with her fiancé and their newly rescued pup. In between work and home life, she also loves spending time at schools instilling the values taught in her children’s book.
Joseph J. Calamita, III - Manager
Joe has amassed 15 years of public accounting experience working for Connecticut CPA firms. Joining the firm in 2009, Joe is strongly accomplished in all client accounting work including audit, financial reporting, tax returns and transactional accounting. Joe’s range in accounting work makes him a strong and valuable asset in delivering the type of anticipatory service which is the Team’s mission.
Joe has a BS and a Masters in Accounting from Quinnipiac University, is a member of the CT Society of CPAs, is a certified Nonprofit accountant and is working towards his CPA designation. Joe lives in Durham with his wife Sofia and their two quickly growing children. In addition, Joe is an avid Crossfit member, believing that the busiest lives require balance.
Lawrence W. Fusco, CPA - Senior Accountant
Not one for retirement, Larry joined Murphy & Company after having been a business client. Larry brings an immense amount of financial management expertise from private and public industry companies to the Murphy team.
His resume includes experience as a Chief Financial Officer or Controller at an esteemed list of recognized Greater New Haven companies including Metro Taxi, Host America, Carrano Express, American Medical Response, Hallocks and Lexington Health Care. This deep experience adds to the Murphy team's financial and tax acumen across a broad array of industries including health care, retail, professional and consumer services.
Larry has a BS in accounting from Boston College. He lives in Northford with his wife Peggy, who had a career as a teacher. Together they raised two sons, who have settled in the area so that Larry and his wife can regularly enjoy their four grandchildren.
Martha Losche - Senior Associate
Sometimes the more rewarding paths to a goal are the longer ones. Martha completed her final business and accounting prerequisites for her CPA candidacy at Southern Connecticut State University. Achieving her CPA is a goal of Martha’s since her first accounting job 9 years ago. The twist here is that Martha is an attorney, having received her JD from the New York Law School and her BS in Political Science from Montclair State University. Martha is a member of the New York Bar and practiced bankruptcy and healthcare contract law for 11 years.
Martha and her husband Bob, an RN at the Yale Shoreline Medical Center, relocated to Guilford to raise their young family. After settling her kids into school, she started on the accountant’s path with bookkeeping, accounting and office management jobs in local companies and then started the educational pursuit of her CPA. Martha and Bob are devoted to their two beautiful boys and enjoy outdoor life in their very few moments of free time. Murphy & Company is delighted to have Martha’s tenacious spirit as part of our team.
Stephanie Mancini, CPA - Senior Accountant
After a short leave of absence to finish graduate school, Stephanie has returned to the Murphy team! Stephanie completed her studies to earn a Masters of Taxation from Fairfield University and has passed all parts of the CPA exam.
After receiving her BA in French Language & Literature from Colgate University, Stephanie discovered accounting in her first post-college job at Club Med in the Bahamas and continued on to the accounting department at their resort in Turks & Caicos. Eschewing the island life, Stephanie returned home to Guilford to continue her studies and earned her Certificate in Accounting from Fairfield University.
Stephanie supports our clients in various accounting and tax preparation capacities. While her love of travel has been put on hold due to her advanced accounting studies, she still finds time for an active, outdoor lifestyle with an emphasis on sandy beaches.
Caila Rainville - Staff Accountant
Murphy & Company is dedicated to providing opportunities for student interns to experience the real world of accounting. Caila came to us by way of the SCSU Internship program and has done so well we asked her to join our team permanently! Caila majored in Accounting at Southern Connecticut State University and received her BS in May 2016. She has completed her additional accounting coursework which qualifies her to study and begin taking the four part CPA exam. Caila is excited about her chosen profession and is appreciative of how the Murphy internship experience augmented her course work.
Caila was born and raised in Seymour with two sisters. She likes to read and runs regularly with her Dad - a pastime that will come in handy as she gets ready to take on the stress of the CPA exam study grind.
Alysha Burns - Accounting Paraprofessional
Murphy & Company can provide clients with a variety of accounting services including our complete back office support system of bookkeeping, payroll and accounting support. More often than not the person performing that service is Alysha! Alysha keeps client books straight with an envious ability to multi-task and just as important, a smile that shines through the telephone.
Alysha previously worked for 13 years in various customer service and purchasing roles. She started on the accounting road via bookkeeping roles in contractor and distribution businesses before settling in with the Murphy team. Alysha enjoys life with her family just a tiny bit more than seeing her clients' bank accounts reconcile to the penny!
Sandy Capobianco - Administrative Manager
Every successful customer service organization has a dedicated, high energy person who sweats the details. Sandy is all of that and more for the Murphy Team and its clients since joining in 2008. Sandy’s 30+ year career is marked by an uncanny ability to learn new professions and then grow into a role of near irreplaceability – becoming an engine for organization and communication. Sandy is responsible for client scheduling and billing, document tracking, marketing implementation and all else administrative in the Practice.
A lifelong East Haven resident, Sandy and her husband Vinny have a wonderful grown daughter.
Beverly Johnson - Office Administrator
One of the great benefits of a growing business is that it provides opportunities to add more great people to the team. Beverly joined Murphy & Company in 2015. She brings 23 years of accounting administrative support experience from long employment runs at two Greater New Haven CPA firms.
Beverly is already skilled in providing accountants with the type of support that amplifies their talents and abilities to serve clients. The Murphy accountants are already smiling.
Beverly attended Briarwood College after being born and raised in Hamden. She resides in Branford with her husband and her two children. Beverly is an avid participant in Zumba classes and can be found soaking up the rays at Branford Point beach when the weather permits.
