Are you expecting an IRS refund?

Murphy & Company LLC recommends direct deposit. You can get your refund faster by providing us with your bank information when we are preparing your return. Direct deposit improves speed, accuracy and provides more protection of your refund.

Per Executive Order 14247, the IRS has begun phasing out paper check disbursements. Starting January 2026, a refund request without bank information will be delayed up to an additional six weeks. If a return is filed without banking information entered, the IRS will issue a notice (CP53E) by mail to the taxpayer with instructions to visit https://IRS.gov/youraccount where the taxpayer can create an account to update banking information to allow

the refund to be direct deposited. Taxpayers without bank accounts can still receive refunds through prepaid debit cards, mobile payment apps or other electronic alternatives.
